Cities in Christmas atmosphere
North Brabant region has several surprising cities that are excellent for shopping! With shops open seven days a week, you can easily fit in a few hours of shopping during your day out or weekend away. Having a delicious lunch or ending your day with dinner is a must of course. In December, the cites go all out and you can go shopping in wonderfully decorated streets.
Tilburg
Tilburg has it all. The shopping area offers a surprising route where you will encounter all the well-known shops and brands. They range from international retail giants to top Dutch brands and from popular shops on the Hoofdstraat to surprising boutiques in the Dwaalgebied. And all nice and compact, you can walk from one place to the next in a few steps. When you are done shopping, surprising vibrant areas like the Piushaven and the Spoorzone are close by and have many wonderful places for lunch or dinner.
’s-Hertogenbosch
If you love shopping, then ‘s-Hertogenbosch is the place to be. You will of course find modern retail chains here but what’s even nicer are the small boutiques, trendy concept shops and shop-in-shops. You can find them both on the main shopping streets as well as in the small side streets. In ‘s-Hertogenbosch you go shopping against an ambient and unique historic backdrop with the Binnendieze under your feet and always with St John’s Cathedral in the background. In the Korte Putstraat, you will find many pavement cafes and restaurants where you can take a break, preferably with a local treat: the Bossche Bol!
Eindhoven
Whether you are looking for high fashion, small boutiques or vintage shops, Eindhoven is a complete and yet compact shopping city. All the shops are within walking distance of each other. And there is always a pavement cafe or restaurant for lunch or dinner around the corner. De Bergen is one of the oldest areas in the city and where you will find many characteristic buildings and streets. Strijp-S is a wonderful example of industrial heritage with a new destination: factory buildings have been converted into trendy shops and great food concepts.

Breda
Shopping lovers can shop to their heart’s content in Breda. Check out the best design shops in the Ginneken or take a peek in the intimate shopping area ’t Sas, the lovely Houtmarkt or the indoor Barones shopping centre. And while you are there, do not forget to enjoy a pavement cafe at one of the many hospitality venues. New in Breda is the creative route (5 km) that takes you past a number of creative hotspots. These are surprising places that each in their own way are promoting themselves as sustainable and above all creative: as a shop, friendly hospitality venue or cultural spot. You can find them in the historic city centre and in the industrial Havenkwartier.
