Walking route
Het Dommelpad
Straight through the countryside and past watermills
The source of the River Dommel (a total of 125 km long) is in Belgium, close to the city of Peer. There, the Dommel starts as a small stream before gradually turning into a brook. By the time it reaches its end point in North Brabant near ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Dommel is a substantial river. Walk through impressive countryside, past lovely watermills and how discover the Dommel has left its mark on Brabant’s countryside.
You can walk the Dommelpad in six different stages, going upstream as well as downstream. You follow the story of the watermills from Peer to ‘s-Hertogenbosch and the story of the heritage and countryside from ‘s-Hertogenbosch to Peer.
