The winter charm of

Brabant cities

‘s-Hertogenbosch

Bosch’ Winterparadijs op de Parade (’s-Hertogenbosch’s Winter Paradise on Parade Square) is the perfect event to visit together with family, friends or other loved ones. Share a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream, or a mug of mulled wine, in the cosy indoor restaurant pavilion. Meanwhile, the children can enjoy the skating rink! Outside on the square, the Christmas village comes to life. A place for listening and looking. Headphones keep your ears warm and tell you beautiful stories, which are supported by the light and the movement on the square. There is also an outdoor stage for talented musicians and other artists.

's-Hertogenbosch makes for a warm December month.

Bosch’ Winterparadijs: 8 December 2019 to 5 January 2020

Everything in the lovely fortified town on the banks of the Meuse breathes the charm that fits in so well with Christmas. The picturesque streets, the historic buildings, the many authentic shops and the cozy restaurants. The perfect place for one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the Netherlands: Christmas by Candlelight. Candlelit stalls, Christmas caroling everywhere, fire braziers, street theatre, food trucks and mulled wine. The Netherlands at its best, in Christmas spirit.

The Christmas market takes place on the Vismarkt, Engstraat, Botermarkt and Nieuwstraat on Friday 13 December from 2pm to 10pm and on Saturday 14 December from 12pm to 8pm.

It is high time again for the warm December month in Eindhoven. From 16 November 2019 until 5 January 2020, Eindhoven city centre will be decked out to exude a nostalgic and homely wintery feel and will host many sparkling activities. Eindhoven is brimming with winter events that will put everybody in a festive mood. Whether you like skating or shopping, the Fijne Feestdagen Festival will be here soon!

Celebrate winter in Breda. Endless shopping in a beautiful, historic setting. Put your feet up in one of the many pubs or restaurants. You will find it easy to believe that Breda has been declared Best City Centre of the Netherlands! On Sunday 15 December, things will be extra festive in the city centre during Christmas with Anton Pieck at the Beguinage. A small theatre route will take you back to the time of the Beguines. It also features an exhibition of original works by Anton Pieck. This famous Dutch artist, born 1895, created enchanting Christmas scenes and charming figures with a fairy-tale, Dickensian touch. There will also be performances by choirs in the Waalse Kerk church and the Beguinage church. Visit the stalls at the small Christmas market in the presbytery garden and enjoy the old crafts on display.

Helmond Castle, the largest moated castle in the Netherlands, will be transformed into Winter Castle Helmond from 11 December to 5 January. And that means enjoying winter and Christmas at its best with the whole family. The castle has been attractively decorated, with enchanting Christmas lights, Christmas music and nicely laid tables. And what is Christmas without a wish tree? During the Christmas holidays there are fun activities for the whole family and lovers of cultural heritage.

Always a joy: the ice rink in the city centre of Bergen op Zoom! In December, it will be back on Grote Markst square, bigger and more beautiful than ever... Of course, there is also plenty to eat and drink on the square and in the tent for when visitors have finished skating. The weekend of 13 December will see the return of ‘Kerst op de Kaai’ (Christmas on the Quay); immerse yourself in the wintery atmosphere, enjoy delicious wintery dishes served by food trucks, dance to fantastic music and visit De Foodstoet Christmas Market. Meanwhile, the children can entertain themselves on the skating rink!
